NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two teens were taken into custody following an attempted home invasion prompted school lockdowns in the Oak Hill area on Wednesday morning.

Metro Police spokesperson Don Aaron said a female resident called police when she heard someone breaking in to her home on Oak Lea Boulevard around 6:30 a.m. Police said the teens likely targeted the home based on the For Sale sign at the edge of the driveway.

Police believe at least one of them broke in through the screened-in back porch, shooting BB guns to break windows. When the woman looked outside, the suspects saw her and took off on foot.

A 17-year-old was taken into custody shortly after the incident on Tyne Valley Boulevard. Police used K-9's to track the other two, but they borrowed a cell phone, called for a cab and left the area. Police said their investigation found the teens were dropped off in the vicinity of Bell Road and Murfreesboro Pike.

Later Wednesday, SWAT officers and detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Edge Moor Drive, and apprehended another 17-year-old inside the residence. Police said the clothing that he and the other accomplice were believed to have worn during the crime were recovered, along with two guns.

The third suspect, a male Latino, remains at large. Police have not confirmed his identity.

Police also recovered an Acura sedan hidden in a creekbed near the home in Oak Hill that was believed to be the suspects' getaway vehicle. It was stolen on July 22 from a townhome development on Old Anderson Road. The license plate was also stolen.

Both 17-year-olds were charged attempted aggravated robbery. Additional charges were expected.
