CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - After the previous director of the Montgomery County Animal Control was fired for mishandling money, an interim director has been announced.
The Montgomery County Mayor's Office announced Wednesday that Tim Clifton was selected to be the director of Animal Control. Clifton replaces former director Karen Josephson who was on the job for less than a year before a state audit revealed missing money from her department.
Josephson was the second Montgomery County Animal Control director to be ousted in the last 13 months.
"Tim has been working hard to improve that facility in his short time as interim director and he has great ideas to continue the increase in adoptions. His enthusiasm for the job is infectious and I look forward to working with him in this new capacity,' said Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers.
Clifton most recently served as the School Resource Officer Supervisor at the Sheriff's Office.
