NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two men were seriously injured after opening fire on each other outside a north Nashville apartment complex.
Police spent hours collecting evidence at Cumberland Pointe Apartments on Buena Vista Pike after shootout around 10 p.m. Wednesday. Police said both men were hit, ran away from each other, and one managed to get in a truck and drive away.
He didn't get too far, as both men were found on the scene. They were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries.
Metro Police recovered firearms as well as drugs, but they're still trying to determine if they're connected to the shooting.
"We don't have any motive right now. At this point, we don't know what led up to the shooting or what events took place to cause these individuals to shoot at each other," said Metro Police captain Kenneth Walburn.
Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
