RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn.- Medics
took a deputy to the hospital Saturday morning after he was in a crash with another
deputy.
According to the Tennessee
Highway Patrol, an investigation is underway regarding a crash involving Rutherford
County Sheriff's Deputy Joseph Duncan, 37, and Williamson
County Sheriff's Deputy, James Kiger, 44. According to officials, Duncan, was
traveling northbound on South Church Street in a marked unit. At the same time,
off-duty Kiger was in a Ford F-150 and pulling out of the McDonald's parking
lot, attempting to turn left and head southbound on South Church Street. Duncan's unit hit the Ford F-150 on the
driver's side door as it was pulling out of the McDonald's lot.
Duncan
was transported to Middle TN Medical Center for his injuries, but by Saturday
evening, he was released from the hospital.
Kiger and his passenger were not transported to a hospital
Duncan was responding to a
call, but it's unclear if his emergency lights were on at the time of the
crash.
