HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn.- Monday the District Attorney will decide if a 15-year-old accused of killing his own mother will face additional charges.

Police say the teen admitted to beating his mother to death inside their Hendersonville home. Investigators say he then tried to set the home on fire. That's when smoke woke up his 16-year-old brother who discovered his mother and called police.

Melanie Davis was a single mother. Her husband died several years ago. Her closest family lives in Austria, so right now the 16-year-old is staying with a neighbor. Her husband's family lives in Kentucky and will arrive in town Monday.

The teen will go before a judge Tuesday to determine if he will be charged as an adult or a juvenile.
