ERWIN, Tenn. (AP) - A man who police said took more than $800 worth of heartburn medicine from a Walmart in Erwin maybe should have considered palming a few powders as well.
Dale L. Nelson's legal headache is a charge of theft over $500.
The Johnson City Press reported store employees saw the 42-year-old Nelson of Chuckey put 49 boxes of Prilosec into a shopping bag and bolt out the garden center entrance. Employees got the license tag of the car the man ran to.
Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley said Nelson was arrested Wednesday and confessed to stealing the medicine. On Monday, Johnson remained in jail, where there was no record of an attorney for him.
