NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Police have identified a motorcyclist killed in a crash near Belmont University on Monday night.
Police said 27-year-old Daniel Anderson was riding a 1999 Kawasaki along Belmont Boulevard around 9:45 p.m. when he entered a curve near Blair Boulevard, lost control of his motorcycle, and struck a light pole.
Anderson, who was wearing a helmet, died on the scene.
"Based on the damage that was done that he struck a utility pole and snapped it half where he came to final rest. So it appears at this point that speed was a definite factor," said Sgt. Mark Denton with Metro Police.
Police said there was no evidence that there were drugs and alcohol involved.
