NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A driver was taken to the hospital after crashing a car into a home in north Nashville.

It happened just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of 23rd Avenue North. The homeowner next door said he heard a loud noise that sounded like a train or a plane flying low and when he walked outside he found a car in his neighbor's front room.

The driver of the Dodge Durango that crashed into the home was knocked unconscious. Police said he later regained consciousness before being taken to the hospital. His condition was unknown.

The home was vacant at the time of the crash and no other injuries were reported.

It is unclear what caused the driver to crash into the home.

No identities were released.
