NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Metro Police officer was fired earlier this month after a disciplinary hearing.
Metro Police fired Edward Karl on August 6, after two years on the force. He had been decommissioned after being arrested in June.
According to a disciplinary report, Karl and his wife were returning from California, where they went on their honeymoon, when they took an exit to avoid a drug checkpoint on the interstate in Kansas.
Undercover officers said Mrs. Karl threw something away, which turned out to be food cooked with marijuana.
