Deadly Fire May Have Been Set To Cover Up Murder

LEWISBURG, Tenn. – Authorities are investigating whether a deadly fire in Lewisburg was intentionally set to cover up a murder.

Early Tuesday morning, John Poteete was found dead in a burning building behind a home on Franklin Avenue.

Investigators said it appears Poteete was murdered, and the fire may have been set to cover it up.

The state medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

So far, no arrests have been made.
