NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police have arrested a man for the murder of his brother inside their apartment.
Police said 33-year-old Charles Masters called 911 around 10:30 Thursday, to report there was a dead body in his apartment at the Cedars at Elm Hill complex on Elm Hill Pike.
First responders found the body of 28-year-old Jordan Masters on the living room floor, his head partially severed.
Detectives said they believe Jordan was killed during an altercation with his brother last weekend.
Jordan Masters suffered from multiple lacerations apparently inflicted by a sword, which was recovered from the apartment.
Police said Charles Masters made several unsolicited statements saying he had killed his brother, including that "he had been laying with the body for the last couple of nights hoping he would wake up and everything would be fixed, but what he had done couldn't be fixed."
Police said they were unsure of the exact reason for the fight between the brothers, but continue to investigate.
Police said Charles is apparently unemployed. Jordan worked for a local motel.
Charles Masters was charged with criminal homicide, and held in lieu of $750,000 bond.
