BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Bowling Green is getting ready for its day in the spotlight as the "American Idol" bus heads to the south-central Kentucky city as part of its small town auditions tour.
The Fox reality series is looking for contestants for its 12th season, which is set to air starting in January.
Auditions are being held Friday in the city's Fountain Square Park, and Fountain Square Business Association President Theresa Shea told the Daily News it will give the city a chance to show off what the downtown area has to offer.
Shea encouraged members of the association to decorate their businesses and have items priced at $5 to $10 for sale to take advantage of the influx of people and welcome the tour to the city.
