JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - Drivers headed eastbound on Interstate 40 near Jackson over the weekend need to be aware of a road construction project.
At 8 p.m. Friday, one eastbound lane will be closed at the I-40 bridge over the West Tennessee Railroad. That's between mile markers 78 and 80. The lane closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Monday so a contractor can do road shoulder work.
There will be a similar closure of a westbound lane August 24-27.
The work is part of an ongoing bridge rehabilitation that is scheduled for completion by June 30, 2013.
