DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities who have been searching for two men who went missing while tubing on Douglas Lake in Jefferson County say they now believe the men have drowned.
Jefferson County officials say the two men, ages 55 and 38, disappeared while tubing on Thursday night. Their identities have not yet been released, but officials say they are from another state.
On Friday, Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency official Matt Cameron told WATE-TV that the hope of finding someone alive has dwindled and they are switching from a rescue mission to a mission to recover their bodies.
The crews used a combination of sonar and dragging along the lake bed to search for the victims. Cameron said the two men were not wearing life jackets.
