NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Freshmen at Belmont University got a warm welcome Saturday.
Members of the Women's Basketball Team were outside the dormitories helping new students move in. The athletes said it's important they give incoming freshman not only a good start to the academic year, but show them the pride and friendship that Belmont stands for.
"It engages the students; it helps bring fans to our games. But more importantly it helps kids know they are part of something bigger. Our philosophy is we're all a team here at Belmont. Whether you're on the basketball team, whether you're in music, we're all one team, and we're just here to help each other," said Brittney Ezell, Belmont Athlete.
Move-in continues Sunday, and classes start next Wednesday.
