NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Crews recovered a body from the Cumberland River on Monday morning.
Crews with the Nashville Fire Department were able to pull the body from the water just after 7 a.m. near the Opryland area.
Police said they believe the body may be that of a man who committed suicide Saturday night by jumping off the Two Rivers Greenway pedestrian bridge.
Witnesses told police they saw the man go into the water around 8:15 p.m., but rescue/recovery efforts were not successful.
Police were working to identify the body found in the water to determine if it was the same man.
