Man Critically Injured After Police Chase In Bowling Green, Ky.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - A man wanted for kidnapping and rape was seriously injured after trying to outrun Kentucky State Police.

Troopers saw 34-year-old James Coitrone riding his motorcycle in Bowling Green on Sunday. A trooper attempted to stop him because he learned Coitrone had a felony warrant for kidnapping and first degree rape.

Officials said he did not stop, so troopers gave chase. At one point during the chase, Coitrone slowed down and that's when one of the police cruisers hit him from behind.

Coitrone was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he's listed in critical condition.

The investigation was ongoing.
