Posted: Updated:

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - Murray State is coming off its first back-to-back winning seasons since 1999-2000.

The Racers had seven victories last season with a one-point lost to Eastern Kentucky, and senior Casey Brockman is the Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Player of the Year again. He is in reach of league records for career yards passing and total offense after throwing for 3,276 yards and 25 TDs last year. He also rushed for four scores and caught a couple TDs.

Murray State returns 16 starters. Ja-Vonta Trotter and Walter Powell lead a deep receiving corps, which adds Utah State transfer Dontel Watkins.

Junior linebacker Qua Huzzie and senior defensive end Kevin Robinson led the OVC in tackles for loss and sacks, respectively.

Murray State starts at Florida State, then hosts Central Arkansas.
