CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A woman was arrested after officers discovered three children alone inside a home where a panic alarm had been activated.
Police, EMS and Clarksville Fire Rescue were called to a home on Peachers Mill Road around 8 a.m. Monday. The first officer on the scene discovered three children, ages 3, 2 and 9 months, alone inside the home.
The children's mother, 28-year-old Annette Drayton, arrived home approximately 13 minutes later. She told police she had only been gone about 30 minutes to take her five-year-old to school. Police said one of the children had activated the panic alarm.
Officers arrested Drayton and charged her with child abuse/neglect. She was released from the Montgomery County jail on $5,000 bond.
The children were released to a family member.
