LAWRENCE COUNTY, Tenn.- Officials with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department are warning residents of a potential scam in the area.

Police said that residents have complained about male and female visiting local homes in a van seeking to talk about name brand products, such as Dawn dish detergent. Officials believe that the couple uses the demonstration of the products to enter the homes of residents and plans to later use information they gain to defraud the home owner.

Anyone who is approached by the couple was asked to call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department at (931)766-4164.
