NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have identified a man who was shot and killed inside a crowded bar in east Nashville overnight.
Police said the shooter walked up behind 29-year-old Keith L. Gaston inside Hard Times Bar and Grill on Dickerson Pike and Trinity Lane around 12:35 a.m. and shot him in the head while he was sitting on a stool.
Gaston, of Yazoo City, Mississippi, died inside the bar.
Police believe Gaston was specifically targeted by the gunman, who walked out of the bar after the shooting.
Police were interviewing several potential witnesses, as the bar was crowded when the shooting occurred. It was also possible that there were surveillance cameras inside the bar that might give investigators a look at what happened.
East precinct detectives said they are pursuing strong leads as they work to identify the shooter.
