NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police want to find a man accused of a fatal shooting inside an east Nashville bar.
Detectives have sworn out a murder warrant against 49-year-old Phillip Morton. Police said Morton shot and killed 29-year-old Keith Gaston inside the Hard Times Bar and Grill on Dickerson Pike early Thursday morning.
Witnesses helped in the identification of Morton as the man who walked up behind Gaston around 12:30 a.m. Thursday as he was sitting on a bar stool and shot him in the head. Gaston, of Yazoo City, Mississippi, died at the scene.
Police said the exact motive remains under investigation.
Morton was last known to have lived on Baptist World Center Drive in Nashville.
