MTSU Library To Stay Open Late Most Evenings

Posted: Updated:

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - The state's largest undergraduate university is expanding library hours, keeping the space open until 2:00 in the morning on most days.

Beginning on Saturday, new hours at Middle Tennessee State University's James E. Walker Library are Sunday from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m., Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Library Dean Bonnie Allen said in a news release from the university that the revised hours are a response to student requests for more time in the morning before classes and more time late at night.

Discussions are under way to also revise the hours of the University Writing Center and a Starbucks that are housed in the library building.
