NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Students at Martin Luther King Jr Magnet School will now be able to exercise their minds and bodies, thanks to a brand new fitness center.
City leaders, students, and faculty celebrated the new space with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The fitness center is filled with equipment like treadmills, elliptical machines, and free weights. MLK Junior has already made strides by taking unhealthy food out of school vending machines and now students and teachers have another way to stay in shape.
"The interest and enthusiasm we have throughout this school because of this facility is yet one additional way that we are changing the culture at Martin Luther King for healthier living," said Tina Bozeman, a Teacher at the school.
The gym was renovated with the help of Dana Burke & Company Fitness, along with the YMCA.
