GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn.-The Goodlettsville Little League team is on the verge of clinching a World Series Championship, but has already made a big impact on the community.

Goodlettsville officials say the winning team has already provided priceless national publicity to the small town.

"This is a case of win, win, win" said Director of Community Development Tom Tucker, "This is just the consummate good story of a small town with great kids."

Tucker said the team has helped put Goodlettsville on the map.  He believes it will eventually translate into increased tourism dollars and an economic boost for the city.

"As a small community we could never afford to buy this kind of advertising.  This provides a positive image for the city."

Fans agree it has been special watching these kids, and they are proud to participate.

"These are our kids, and anytime you are talking about kids in your area, everyone wants to see them do well," said fan Jon Burch, "that is what makes us most excited."

Incredible Dave's at the Rivergate Mall is hosting a watch party on Saturday, August 25.  The festivities begin at 1 p.m.  Every TV will be showing the game, there will be prizes for spirited fans, and 15% of food sales will go back to the team.

Goodlettsville takes on California Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
