NASHVILLE, Tenn.- School officials have confirmed that it was a Cane Ridge High School teacher who was involved in a fight that was caught on cell phone video last week.
Metro school officials confirmed Monday that the teacher, whose name was not released, was involved in the fight and has since been place on administrative leave. The fight took place Friday afternoon inside a Cane Ridge High classroom. In the video, a clearly frustrated adult can be seen yelling at the student, who was refusing to stand up from a desk.
In the audio, the teacher can be heard yelling "Come on, get up right now. Boy you better not put your hands on me. Get up! Right now! Put your hands on me again. Get up."
News Channel5 spoke to the family of William Martin, the student involved in this fight. His uncle said he took Martin to the hospital to get checked out and that the teen has also been expelled from school.
School officials said the incident is still under investigation. No charges have been filed.
