Nissan To Announce Gift To MTSU

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - Nissan North America officials will be in Murfreesboro to present a gift to Middle Tennessee State University.

The university said the gift will help the Japanese automaker promote the applications and use of electric vehicles.

Details will be released at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Nissan has an auto assembly plant in Smyrna that is scheduled to begin making lithium ion batteries in September and to begin producing the all-electric vehicle the Leaf in December.
