GILES COUNTY, Tenn. - A convicted murderer was taken back into custody after it was discovered he had a gun at his Giles County home.
US Marshals were called in to assist parole officers after a tip that John Comer had a gun inside his home on Peach Road in Minor Hill.
Comer was out of prison on parole after serving time for his part in a double murder back in 1992.
Authorities found a loaded .22-caliber rifle, which was the same type of weapon use in the murder.
He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and a parole violation. It likely means he could have to serve out the rest of sentence, which is another 30 years behind bars.
