CROSSVILLE, Tenn. - One person was killed and three people were injured in a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 40 in Cumberland County on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. Monday near mile marker 322 just outside of Crossville on I-40.

A report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol said a Chevrolet in the eastbound lanes somehow crossed over into the westbound lanes, and struck a tractor trailer. The driver of the Chevy lost control, went back over the median and struck the back of another tractor trailer.

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 54-year-old Ricky Davis of Crossville, was ejected and died on the scene. THP officials said he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The passenger in his vehicle, identified as 15-year-old Derrick Davis, and the drivers of both tractor trailers were injured.

No charges were filed.

One lane of both east and westbound traffic were closed while crews investigated the scene.
