NEW YORK (AP) - Former Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt will receive the U.S. Tennis Association's Billie Jean King Legacy Award, which honors people who have helped change the global cultural landscape.

Summitt, the winningest coach in NCAA college basketball history, stepped down in April, less than eight months after revealing she had early-onset dementia.

The USTA also announced Tuesday that it will posthumously honor wheelchair tennis pioneer Randy Snow and former USTA CEO Lee Hamilton at next week's 2012 ICON Awards.

USTA CEO Gordon Smith hailed this year's recipients as "champions of diversity and inclusion."

Summitt said she is "especially honored" to receive the legacy award on the 40th anniversary of Title IX.
