Police Say Mom Hit 11-Year-Old For Burning Grilled Cheese

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Clarksville mother was arrested after allegedly hitting her 11-year-old daughter several times for burning a grilled cheese sandwich.

Christina Ann Reaves, 34, was charged with child abuse/neglect.

Police said they were called to a home on Poppy Drive around 6 p.m. Tuesday in reference to child abuse.

An officer learned Reaves had repeatedly hit her 11-year-old daughter in the face after she burned a grilled cheese sandwich while cooking. Police said the girl had knuckle marks and visible bruises, and Reaves admitted to punishing her.

The father of the child was not at home at the time.

Reaves' bond was set at $5,000.

Police said the investigation was ongoing, but no further information would be released.
