NASHVILLE, Tenn. – She had just moved to Nashville, was hard-pressed for cash, and had no transportation to get to and from work.  That is, until Jessica Robinson says a cup of coffee changed her life.

The Well Coffeehouse opened up just a few weeks ago in Green Hills.

Robinson says she stopped in one day and saw a sign on one of the walls that caught her eye.  It said 'Wishing Well', and on the wall, she saw several handwritten notes.

"There's a lot more on there now then there was when I first posted mine," she said.  "It's hard to write something down.  It was hard for me to write a need.  It's very humbling."

Jessica took a chance and described her predicament, saying she wasn't in a position financially to save for a car, and she would appreciate any prayers or support.

She never knew her wish would be granted so quickly.

"I saw the Wishing Well board, and I thought, ‘Well this is cool,'" said Tristan Wheeler, another customer at the coffeehouse.  "So I was looking through, seeing if there was anything I could do, and then I saw one person had posted they needed a vehicle.  And I thought, ‘I have a car and a truck; I can help with this.'"

He got Jessica's contact information off of the card, and told her his 1995 Chevrolet pick-up truck was hers if she wanted it.

When Jessica laid eyes on the teal green truck, she knew it was perfect.

"I looked at him, and I said, 'I think I can rock that'," she said.

For tax purposes, Wheeler sold the car to her for one dollar.  Ironically, that's less than she paid for the cup of coffee that ultimately led her to the wishing well.

"The Wishing Well is an idea we threw out there to see how people would respond," said Rob Touchstone, who works at The Well.  "We just invited people to start putting up their needs, and we told people there's no guarantee this need would be met, but just think of it like throwing a wish in a well."

Touchstone says stories like Jessica's make them realize just how generous this community is.

"The mission is to build a community of people taking care of each other," he said.  "It's just beautiful."
