SHELBYVILLE, Tenn.- As the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration continues in Shelbyville two organizations have faced off in the press over the treatment of those horses.
The Humane Society of the US held a press conference on Friday urging lawmakers to ban the practice. They believe its animal abuse. Shortly after, the Walking horse Association held their own press conference to defend how the horses are treated. They agreed that better reforms are need, but banning the competitions is not the answer.
The results from last week's Walking Horse Celebration came back today. There were no violations.
