ATLANTA, Ga.- The
Tennessee Football fan who died during a fall at Friday night's game was from
East Tennessee. Isaac Grubb, 20 of Lenoir City fell 45 feet and landed on
another person below just after 8:30 Friday night. Authorities in Atlanta say the 20-year-old fan had been drinking alcohol before he fell to his death in the Georgia Dome. The man fell over a 33-inch railing and plummeted to the lower level of the stadium during a Tennessee-North Carolina State football game.
The incident happened during the
game between the University of Tennessee and North Carolina State that was
being held at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Witnesses said everyone was celebrating
the first touchdown when Grubb fell over into the student section on the
bottom.
"Everyone's reaction was
kind of really freaked out about what happened. Everyone tried to run to the
side, but security was pushing everyone back and clearing the area out, so
people couldn't like look over," said witness Kellie Wilborn.
The fan Grubbs fell on
also went to the hospital where he was treated and released. He was a
34-year-old man from Fort Mill, South Carolina.
