The Sounds invited the Goodlettsville All-Stars for batting practice Saturday afternoon at Greer Stadium.
NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Tennessee's
very own "Boys of Summer" are back on the baseball diamond, this time
with the Nashville Sounds.
The Sounds invited the
Goodlettsville All-Stars for a little batting practice Saturday afternoon. The
team brought home the U.S. Championship trophy at this year's Little League
World Series. At Saturday night's Sounds game, each Little Leaguer threw out a
first pitch to thirteen Sounds players, all at the same time.
Even a week after the team
returned home from Pennsylvania, they are still surprised at the response
they've gotten from the community.
"It's been a
madhouse. We didn't realize, you know,
what kind of affect we had on everybody locally, but it's been really nice to
see since we've been home -- the Vanderbilt response was unbelievable, I mean
as soon as we walked out it was just deafening down on the field, so -- it's
been great," said Goodlettsville All-Stars manager, Joey
Hale.
Saturday, the Nashville
Sounds played against the Memphis Redbirds.
