Alleged Burglar Crashes Car After Pursuit In Madison

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – An alleged burglar crashed his car after a police pursuit in Madison early Tuesday morning.

Police took Russell Crockett into custody around 3:30 a.m. after he crashed his car at North DuPont Avenue and Myatt Drive.

An alert citizen noticed someone running in and out of a shattered double pane window at Boswell Harley Davidson on Gallatin Pike.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle allegedly involved in the burglary, but it took off. The vehicle crashed shortly thereafter.

Crockett suffered minor injuries.

Stolen merchandise, including ten leather Harley Davidson jackets, was recovered from his vehicle. Police said he also damaged the paint on two motorcycles inside the store.

Crockett was charged with burglary, evading arrest, and driving on a suspended license. He was held on $75,000 bond.
