FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Police said a man was charged with resisting arrest after allegedly threatening to shoot an officer in Franklin.
Police were called to check on an impaired couple at the Tiger Mart on Cool Springs Boulevard around 2:50 a.m. Monday. The woman in the driver's seat, 35-year-old Tonya Gendreau, was arrested on DUI charges.
Police said the passenger, 25-year-old Spencer Hill, became combative and told officers who were trying to detain him that may have a gun. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
During the drive to jail, police said he repeatedly directed racial slurs at the arresting officer and told the officer he was going to put a bullet in him.
Police said Hill did not have a gun on him, although he told the arresting officer he was a gun collected.
Hill was also charged with public intoxication and freed on $1,500 bond. Gendreau was freed on $1,500 as well.
Both were due in court on September 13.
