COOKEVILLE, Tenn.- A midstate mom has been accused of drinking, then driving to pick up her child from school.
Cookeville Police arrested Giselda Xum Friday afternoon. They say she pulled into Jere Whitson Elementary smelling of alcohol. When a school official questioned her she sped away without her child.
An officer finally pulled her over and stated a small child was walking around in the back seat.
He also noticed five empty beer cans in her car. Xum was charged with DUI, open container, reckless endangerment, and evading arrest.
