NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Vanderbilt University Medical Center has expanded the way it saves lives by adding Critical Care Response Cars to its Life Flight fleet.
The cars will be on days that helicopters can't go up because of bad weather. The vehicles have all the same medical equipment and supplies that are normally in the chopper including lifesaving blood. Officials say they turned down 1,200 missions because of bad weather last year.
The first of these vehicles has been placed at the Tullahoma Airport
