One Person Shot In South Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Police have been called to the scene of a shooting in South Nashville.

The shooting was reported in the area of Wharf Avenue near Perkins Street around 5:30 p.m. Police said a 27-year-old male was shot in the leg. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

It was unclear if a suspect was in custody.

The crash happened around 6:00 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 96 and Maple Lane. Emergency crews and police are on the scene, and several patients were being taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
