NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Funeral arrangements have been set for a 16-year-old girl who gained global support in her brave fight against cancer.
A viewing for Taylor Filorimo has been set for Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Saint Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Community on Bell Road. A second viewing will be held Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a mass immediately following.
The La Vergne teen died Wednesday at Vanderbilt, after a three year fight with a rare form of cancer.
After her diagnosis, Taylor took her story to the internet to bring awareness to childhood cancer. The "Pray for Tay" tag went viral, and supporters all over the world sent words of encouragement.
A trust has been set up to help the Filorimo family with medical bills.
