KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Knoxville woman said a hawk that has been trying to prey on her Chihuahua is bigger than her 2-year-old granddaughter. Trinity the dog weighs just two pounds.
Julia Chesson told the Knoxville News Sentinel that city animal control people said they can't interfere with the bird of prey. Mayor Madeline Rogero's office referred Chesson to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Wildlife Services. She was told there that she would have to pay hundreds of dollars for someone to capture the hawk.
Chesson said she has tried to shoo the big bird away, but said it's just not scared.
She is keeping Trinity inside for now and said that bird is out there somewhere, watching. Chesson said that's a scary feeling.
