On Thursday, a "be on the lookout" was issued for Elizabeth Robinson in Nashville, saying she had been seen around 2 p.m. in Hope, Arkansas. The BOLO said she was headed to Hodgenville, Kentucky.
KHOU 11 News in Houston reported that Elizabeth Robinson was last seen around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at her home in Cypress, Texas. A note was left, saying she had gone to a friend's house because of bullies at school. Her brother's vehicle was missing, as was her mother's ATM card.
Her parents told authorities they believed she had run away to meet a 12-year-old boy in Kentucky she had met while playing Xbox games online.
The station reported Elizabeth may have come up with the scheme to run away when her father took away her Xbox earlier in the week. Her mother told KHOU that Elizabeth had been asking questions about the brother's car and what kind of gas mileage it gets.
Authorities tracked her movements through her mother's ATM card, and her father left Texas in search of Elizabeth.
State Trooper Dwayne Stanford heard the BOLO alert Thursday, and pulled into the median on Interstate 40 eastbound to watch for her car after estimated she would be in Nashville between 10 and 11 p.m. Thursday.
He spotted her vehicle around 10:25 p.m. after she nearly struck the guardrail while trying to exit the interstate at the Highway 70S exit in Bellevue.
The driver was wearing a Texas Longhorn hat and matched the description provided on the BOLO.
Robinson was taken into custody and transported to the Metro Juvenile Detention Center. KHOU reported her father had come to Nashville to pick her up.
