Nashville to Host Stair Climb Remembering 9/11

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-  For New York City firefighters, the loss on September 11th was particularly tragic, but this Sunday, those who died will be remembered in  several ways. Firefighters from across the country will be in Music City Sunday for the 3rd annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

Following an invocation, moment of silence and a scheduled performance by Nashville Pipes and Drums, firefighters wearing full gear will take turns going up the 28 flights at the Tennessee Tower downtown. They will climb it four times to represent the 110 floors New York City firefighters climbed in the Twin Towers on September 11th, 2001. Each firefighter in Sunday's event will carry a picture of one of the 343 men who died that day. The climb starts at 9:00 a.m.

The Nashville Stair Climb is one of many stair climbs scheduled throughout the country.
