Greyhound Bus From Nashville Catches Fire In Birmingham
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A fire on a Greyhound bus from Nashville forced the evacuation of 13 passengers in Birmingham but did not cause any injuries.
Greyhound spokeswoman Maureen Richmond said a company driver noticed fire and smoke Saturday morning while driving on Interstate 65. The driver pulled over to the side of the highway and got the passengers off the bus.
The Birmingham News reported that city firefighters extinguished the blaze. Richmond said no one was injured.
The bus was headed from Nashville, Tennessee, to Tallahassee, Fla. The passengers were delayed about an hour, and then put on another bus.
