Williamson Co. Coach Pleads Not Guilty To Sex Charges

Posted: Updated:

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – A Williamson County coach has pleaded not guilty to three counts of sexual battery by an authority figure.

Darren Henrie, 44, appeared with his attorney Monday in Williamson County Criminal Court.

Henrie is accused of abusing a teenager between 2007 and 2009, while he was a teacher and basketball coach at Independence High School in Thompson's Station.

Authorities would not disclose how he knew his alleged victim.

Pending the investigation, Henrie was suspended without pay from his job as athletic director, boys basketball and girls golf coach at Centennial High School following his indictment in late August.

A status hearing was set for December 17.
