NASHVILLE, Tenn. -  A man was critically injured in a shooting in West Nashville Monday evening.

Police said the victim was visiting family in the area when he was shot in the abdomen around 9:30 p.m.

Police said they received a call from a man who told dispatchers that his nephew had been shot in the 3400 block of Indiana Avenue.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Police were searching for the shooter, but had little information.
