Brewers Extend Nashville Sounds As Their Triple-A Team

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Milwaukee Brewers have reached a deal keeping the Nashville Sounds as their Triple-A affiliate through the 2014 season.

Doug Melvin, the Brewers' president of baseball operations and general manager, made the announcement Tuesday with the Sounds co-owner Frank Ward.

Nashville has been the Brewers' Triple-A affiliate since 2005, going 589-559 in that stretch with five winning seasons and winning the 2005 Pacific Coast League title.

Melvin said the Sounds' current home at Greer Stadium is not totally satisfactory but that the Brewers remain loyal to the current owners and their work getting a "much-needed new park."
