Summertown Man Shot In The Head

SUMMERTOWN, Tenn. - Police said that one person was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center after being shot in the head in Lawrence County.

Officials with the Summertown Police said that a 41-year-old man was shot in the head Tuesday.

The victim's sister told NewsChannel 5 that Shawn Hunter shot himself in the head around 11:30 a.m. on the tailgate of his pickup truck. She said he remained on life support at Vanderbilt as of Wednesday morning.

According to police, the investigation was ongoing.
