MAURY COUNTY, Tenn.- Emergency crews were called to rescue a person from a cave in the Mount Pleasant area Tuesday night.
According to police, four people went down into the cave off Campbellsville Pike, on Miller Lake Road, when one of them suffered some type of medical emergency. Emergency crews were immediately called and were able to enter the cave and successfully remove the person. Officials said the rescue took about two hours.
The victim was transported by emergency medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. The identity of the victim was not released.
No other injuries were reported.
